My approach to cardiovascular care is centred on careful listening, evidence-based decision-making and treatment that fits the individual patient — their risk profile, their symptoms and the life they want to return to.
Much of what matters in cardiology is decided before any procedure begins: an accurate history, an unhurried examination, the right investigation chosen for the right reason. That is where I begin with every patient.
Dr. Gem Raghav Prashanth is an interventional cardiologist in Chennai, providing adult and paediatric cardiac assessment and consultation at JG Heart and Hematology Centre in Old Washermanpet. The Centre sees patients from across North Chennai — Tondiarpet, Royapuram, Korukkupet and the surrounding neighbourhoods — as well as the wider city.

Procedures are performed in appropriately equipped cardiac catheterisation facilities. Whether a procedure is required, and where it is best carried out, is decided case by case after clinical assessment.

CADRIDS is a research-derived risk-stratification tool. It does not diagnose coronary artery disease and does not replace clinical assessment or established diagnostic testing. Further evaluation and external validation in larger and more diverse populations are warranted.
